This work provides an audit framework for Contact Tracing applications built in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This audit framework builds on the COVID-19 Contact Tracing Privacy Principles.

While contact tracing is fundamentally an epidemiological process, privacy and equity play a large role in improving adoption and mitigating liabilities of these processes. This post includes a playbook to help ensure data collected from contact tracing apps is used responsibly.

Amidst all the noise about contact tracing and exposure notification apps, U.S. Digital Response has put together a Model Data Protection Agreement to help ensure an appropriate balance between those who produce data for these apps and those who use data produced by these apps.

COVID-19 has demonstrated a need to transform some processes from analog to digital. This article examines the impact of COVID-19 on modern slavery and outlines some of the harmonized legal, technical, and human-centered solutions that can begin addressing each set of problems.
